Audiologists Improve the Quality of Care
As experts in the identification and treatment of hearing and balance disorders for patients across the lifespan, audiologists are critical to ensuring high quality care associated with a variety of illnesses or injuries. Audiologists are already part of a variety of quality and value-based care payment arrangements such as Medicare’s Quality Reporting Program and successful participation in such programs ensure adequate reimbursement to audiologists and reinforces their value in the overall health care system. The National Hearing Conservation Association (NHCA) a group of hearing conservationists willing to share their expertise to prevent hearing loss. NHCA members include occupational and clinical audiologists, industrial hygienists, occupational health nurses, acoustical engineers and technicians, physicians, occupational health and safety professionals, military personnel, university professors, students, researchers and others with an interest in hearing conservation. The current AQC Chair is serving on behalf of NHCA.
