Cost

The MIPS cost performance category evaqluates the costs of care provided to Medicare beneficiaries. There are more than 30 measures available for this performance category, including:

  • Episode-based cost measures focused on a range of procedures, acute inpatient medical conditions, and chronic conditions, and
  • Population-based cost measures associated with primary and inpatient care.

At this time, there are no cost measures applicable to audiologists. Therefore, the “weight” of this performance category is redistributed to the other performance categories.
